Shore Excursions
Optional shore excursions are specially chosen by cruise lines to enhance guests’ time in port. Organised excursions provide guests with the opportunity to discover some of the world’s most dramatic scenery and colourful cultures, without having to make your own sightseeing arrangements.
For guests confined to wheelchairs Cruising Holiday can assist you in arranging excursions that utilise adapted transport.
Onboard activities during the day include:
games organised by staff including chess, bridge and backgammon;
classes from makeover seminars, art and cookery to computer and foreign language classes;
lectures offering the opportunity to hear some of the world’s most compelling individuals;
art auctions where guests may participate or simply just watch the auction take place; cinema comfortably equipped with the latest high tech projectors and digital sound showing a variety of the latest releases during the day and evening;
library offering the latest titles for loan to guests along with a good selection of music CDS;
internet cafÈ offering excellent computer facilities in a relaxed and comfortable environment.
Most cruise ships offer a fantastic variety of entertainment late into the night. From West End style shows to casinos, nightclubs and a host of superb bars and venues to suit every mood and occasion.
Some cruise ships offer a theatre where talented singers and dancers entertain guests with professional performances. Onboard casinos offer traditional games including slot machines, blackjack, craps and roulette. There is every opportunity to dance the night away in one of the many entertainment venues featuring music to suit every taste from jazz to swing, disco to country, classical to classic rock. Ballroom dancing is also offered. For those who prefer a nightclub or disco there are atmospheric venues with resident DJs playing a mix of dance music.
Spa Treatments
Having body-pampering treatments aboard a cruise ship can be a wonderful experience, as the ship provides a relaxing environment and when enhanced by a spa treatment such as a massage or facial the benefits are doubly therapeutic.
Treatments include Massage, including Swedish massage, shiatsu massage, hot stone massage, well-being massage; Bodywrap; Body scrub; Facial; Manicure; Pedicure; Hair styling.
A typical large resort ship spa will include a gym (probably with ocean view windows and the latest equipment), saunas, steam rooms, several body treatment rooms, therapy pools, relaxation areas, changing rooms and beauty salon. Keep fit, yoga, Pilates and various aerobic classes are usually available.
Some cruise ships also offer golf ranges and miniature golf, table tennis, shuffleboard, in line skating, rock-climbing wall, ice-skating and dance classes.
